As everyone knows by now, we lost an NBA Legend on Sunday… Kobe Bean Bryant. He was a father to four beautiful girls, a husband, a retired NBA Legend, and a basketball coach to his daughter’s team. Of course, he was much more than that, but he’s known for his dynamic moves on the court and passing his wisdom and knowledge to players coming up beside and behind him.
He was killed in a helicopter crash along with his daughter, Gianna, who was just 13-years-old. Gianna was an up and coming basketball player just like her father. She was hoping to play for UCONN when she got to college and wanted to eventually end up in the WNBA. When reporters asked Kobe if he was sad he didn’t have sons, Gianna would say, she’s going to carry on his legacy. She’s got this!
Everyone knows that LA traffic is the WORST! Kobe was a family man and would often miss spending time with his girls. This clip explains why he was in a helicopter and how it saved him time.
I commend Kobe for wanting to spend that time with his children and find the most efficient way to do it b/c once that time is gone, we can never get it back. Sadly, whatever happened to the helicopter this particular time, took the lives of Kobe, his daughter, and 7 other people.
My heart truly goes out to Vanessa, Kobe’s wife, who has to bury not only her husband, but her CHILD. I can’t imagine the pain that she must be in nor the feelings of grief that she and her children and his other family and friends must be feeling.
I send my prayers and deepest condolences to his family and friends at this time and ask God to help Vanessa and their children get through this difficult time and give Vanessa the strength to carry on and raise her babies.
For the families of the other victims of the crash, my prayers are with them as well. I pray that they are given the strength and understanding to make it through the tough times ahead. My deepest condolences to them as well. ❤
