This goes out to new moms, but really all moms, who think they aren’t there enough for their children. You are enough.

  • When you think that you aren’t there enough…
  • You worked too much…
  • You don’t spend enough time with them…
  • You didn’t have a father for them…
  • You didn’t get them that game, those shoes, that coat, toy, jacket, whatever…
  • FB_IMG_1574049211466.jpgYou didn’t read to them enough…
  • You didn’t get them to eat enough vegetables…
  • They stayed up too late…
  • You were too overprotective…
  • You were too strict…
  • You were too lenient…
  • Whatever the case may be…

None of that matters. What matters is that when you were there, you were present! You were spending quality time with them. Sure, they won’t understand when they are young, but they will when they are old enough.

You did what you had to do. What’s important is that you did your best and that’s what counts! As long as you did what was best with them in mind and with love in your heart, then everything else will work out eventually.

So, while you have bills, work, meals, wine, self-care, and other things on your mind… please remember, that your children will love you regardless. If they act like they don’t, it’s usually b/c they don’t understand what’s going on and that can be cleared up with communication.

Sometimes, involving them in decisions will make them feel like they matter and they have a voice. Usually, they want to weigh in on decisions too, which is where some of their resentment and anger comes from b/c they weren’t included, but let me digress.

I guess what I’m long-windedly saying is that your children will love you regardless of anything that you think you’re doing wrong. Parenting doesn’t come with a manual and each child is different.

Just make sure you’re doing your best and loving on those babies the best you know how and things will work out in the end. ❤
