Take a moment to watch this video if you haven’t seen it already.
What did you notice?
Was it inspiring?
Did you agree with it?
Did it stir up something in you? Maybe to make some moves where you had been stagnant before?
Good, I hope it was all of the above b/c I know that there are so many people who have the potential to be great, myself included, but fear is holding them back. The unknown is holding them back. Lack of money is holding them back. Excuses are holding them back.
Don’t you know that once you take that leap of faith, your net will appear? Don’t you know that you have to first believe in yourself, your abilities, your talent before anyone else can believe in you?
Nobody can want more for you than you want for yourself. Life doesn’t work that way.
Yes, there are some people who are gifted at things. Naturally. People sing, cook, dance. rap, draw, swim, bake, talk, act, write, etc.
However, you’ve got to discover what your specific talents are and share them with the world. Talents are not meant to be kept to yourself. They are meant to be shared, used to bless people with, and acknowledged.
I mean, we all have them. That one special thing, that only we can do, that when paired with someone or even on our own, it just SHINES, FITS, MAKES SENSE!!
What are my talents? You ask?
Oh, well… every word you’ve read on this blog. My talent is WRITING!
I discovered it while in graduate school in 2014 and I was 35+ years old. I went through nearly my whole life thinking that I was talentless until I discovered writing.
Now, I write nearly every day. I write everything. I write so much now that I feel like I’m making up for lost time from all the years that I wasn’t writing.
I currently have THREE journals, this blog, and I’m in graduate school. I mean, that’s a LOT of writing and I thoroughly enjoy it! 💖 However, that’s nothing compared to what’s to come. Watch me werk! 😉
Word of Advice:
Listen, as long as you draw breath… you can change your life. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.
Yes, I have a lot of stuff going on at the same time and sometimes I get overwhelmed with it all. Writing every day is cathartic to me, it allows me to indulge in my talent and sharpen them, and it allows me to strengthen my vocabulary, and it keeps me sane.
However, I am writing this particular post to reach out to you and say… that it’s never too late to live your best life.
It’s never too late to start that business. It’s never too late to get that degree. It’s never too late to move to another state, city, country. It’s never too start over. It’s never too late to move on. It’s never too late!!
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t! They can’t, but you can! There’s always a way, figure it out! Yes, times get tough but that doesn’t mean that you quit. That means you persevere!
As long as you are PROGRESSING, not REGRESSING… it will all be worth it in the end. ❤
